Description
Stokesia laevis ‘Omega Skyrocket’ is a tall-growing selection of Stokes’ Aster, notable for its upright flower stems and large lavender-blue blooms. The plant forms a low mound of evergreen basal foliage, with flower spikes rising to about 90–120 cm (3–4 feet) in summer. Flowering typically begins in early summer and can continue into late summer with deadheading.
This cultivar performs best in full sun and well-drained soil but tolerates short periods of drought once established. It is reliably hardy in USDA Zones 5 through 9. While tolerant of heat and humidity, it prefers soils that aren’t too dry or heavy, especially in winter. It’s a good candidate for perennial borders and pollinator gardens, offering long-lasting color and structure through the season.
